Washington state law requires that peace officers have their immigration status verified and be either U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, and the law does not permit hiring individuals who hold temporary work visas or who are undocumented and not DACA beneficiaries.
