Carnival ride malfunctions at Los Angeles high school
On Sept. 26, 2025, 'The Zipper' carnival ride malfunctioned during a Bishop Conaty Our Lady of the Loretto High School event in Los Angeles when a cable reportedly snapped, causing two carriages to collide and one to fall to the ground. Witnesses described the ride abruptly stopping and carriages crashing; the Archdiocese of Los Angeles said no one was seriously hurt and thanked first responders.
