Man killed in suspected bear attack at Arkansas campsite
A 60‑year‑old man from Missouri who was camping at Sam's Throne near Mt. Judea, Arkansas, was found dead several yards outside his campsite after sending his family photos of a bear earlier in the week, Newton County Sheriff Glenn Wheeler said. The campsite was found disturbed with evidence of a struggle and drag marks; officials say the body had extensive injuries consistent with a large‑carnivore attack, the campsite has been closed and multiple agencies, dogs and hunters are searching for a young male bear seen in photos.
