Luke Bronin raises $1.2M to challenge Rep. John Larson

Former Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin has raised roughly $1.18 million between July 30 and Sept. 30 and says his 2025 total now exceeds $1.2 million as he mounts a Democratic primary challenge to 77‑year‑old Rep. John Larson (D‑Conn.). The fundraising haul—73% from Connecticut donors and, Bronin says, entirely from individuals—puts the 46‑year‑old insurgent on competitive footing against Larson, who has served in Congress for 27 years and has also raised over $1 million this year. The race follows concerns about Larson’s health after a February House‑floor freeze‑up his office attributed to a complex partial seizure and is one of several primary challenges to older Democratic incumbents pressing for generational change.
