Tropical Storm Jerry Forms in Central Atlantic

The National Hurricane Center reported Tuesday that Tropical Storm Jerry formed over the central Atlantic about 1,300 miles east‑southeast of the northern Leeward Islands. Jerry — the 10th named storm of the 2025 season — had maximum sustained winds of 45 mph and was moving west at 24 mph; forecasters said tropical storm watches could be required for the northern Leeward Islands, which include U.S. territories, by late Tuesday night.
