Boston pro-Palestinian protest turns violent; 13 arrested

Boston Police said a pro-Palestinian demonstration of 200–300 people in downtown Boston on Oct. 7 escalated into a riot, with protesters assaulting officers, surrounding cruisers, and igniting smoke devices and flares. Thirteen people were arrested on charges including unlawful assembly, violent resistance, and obstructing emergency response; Mayor Michelle Wu condemned the violence and said offenders should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
