CDC panel to review vaccine aluminum safety
The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) this week created a working group to review the childhood vaccination schedule, including the safety of certain ingredients such as aluminum adjuvants. An ACIP document lists as an example question whether either of two aluminum adjuvants increases asthma risk, a review that could inform future CDC recommendations for vaccines like DTaP, HepA/B, HPV, pneumococcal and meningococcal shots.
