Mexico floods, landslides kill at least 27
Mexico’s government says heavy rains linked to Post‑Tropical Cyclone Priscilla and Tropical Storm Raymond triggered flooding and landslides this week that killed at least 27 people across Hidalgo, Puebla, Veracruz and Querétaro, with dozens missing and widespread damage to homes, schools, hospitals and roads. More than 320,000 customers lost power, two bridges and over 600 miles of federal highways were affected, and thousands of troops were deployed for rescues and road clearance; the same storms are forecast to bring heavy rain and flash‑flood risk to the American Southwest this weekend.
