Amazon to hire 250,000 seasonal holiday workers

Amazon said Monday it will add 250,000 part- and full-time seasonal workers in the U.S. for the October–December holiday rush, with seasonal pay averaging over $19 an hour. The announcement comes as Challenger, Gray & Christmas projects fewer than 500,000 retail seasonal hires overall this year amid higher tariff costs, inflation pressures and more automation, and as other chains like Target and Kohl’s avoid setting numeric hiring targets.
