U.S. masses warships, F‑35s in Caribbean buildup

The Pentagon has assembled its largest Caribbean force in more than three decades, deploying three guided-missile destroyers, F‑35B jets, MQ‑9 drones, P‑8 Poseidon aircraft, assault ships and a special‑operations vessel since August as part of a regional crackdown. The buildup accompanies U.S. strikes on alleged drug‑smuggling boats that have killed at least 21 people, and President Trump has hinted targets inside Venezuela could be next.
